| The district is in the process of changing the current website. While we are excited about the changes to our parent communication system, we will experience some difficulties in the transition. For now, all parent and student accounts are not working. You can still view and get some updated information, butl will not be able to interact with this system. Thank you for your patience as we improve our system. More information will be sent out as we implement the new system. |
On November 29, 2011, Acting State Superintendent, Ollie Tyler, visited with “DoSomething.org” group of Vacherie Elementary School. Mrs. Tyler encouraged the group to set goals and work diligently towards accomplishing their goals.
“DoSomething.org”, under the leadership of Behavior Strategist, Ms. Melissa Aubert, is a group of 6th grade female students at Vacherie Elementary. The group's mission is to make a positive impact on the community and school. As the group work collaboratively with stake holders, they will develop positive relationships and do something each month to show how much they care about their community and their school.
“DoSomething.org” is one of the largest organizations in the U.S. that helps young people rock causes they care about. A driving force in creating a culture of volunteerism, DoSomething.org is on track to activate two million young people in 2011. By leveraging the web, television, mobile, and pop culture, DoSomething.org inspires, empowers and celebrates a generation of doers: young people who recognize the need to do something, believe in their ability to get it done, and then take action.
Students at Vacherie Elementary School had a fabulous time at the 2011 Fall Fest. Thanks to Mrs. Stall and the library club members at St. James High School for volunteering their time at the Fall Fest.
